I graduated from Ohio State University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Romance Studies and a minor in linguistics. While pursuing my college degree, I also worked as a Spanish tutor on a one-on-one basis and helped two pre-teen children gain a better understanding of the language. My experience as a tutor has taught me the importance of creating personalized lessons and building rapport with students. After getting to know my students' personalities, strengths, weaknesses, and interests, I've been able to come up with lessons that are more engaging and effective. Also, as a lover of languages, I love teaching students how to communicate more effectively. Along with Spanish and English, I am also able to tutor anyone interested in improving their understanding of French, German, Italian, and Latin. I believe that the best way to get students to master a new language is not by giving them the answers, but rather helping them learn how to work through their challenges and discover the solution on their own. When I'm not studying languages, I like to spend my time watching TV shows, writing, and traveling abroad. Along with spending a semester abroad in Rome, I've also had the pleasure of visiting seven European countries.
