Experience
Teaching has been a passion of mine for a long time. I am working toward my master's degree in education at Ohio State University. I received my bachelor's degree in journalism from Syracuse University. I teach and tutor with a private tutoring company to help students prepare for standardized and college entrance tests. In the past, I have assisted and taught Spanish and basic English at a high school in Missouri. My experience as a classroom teacher and a tutor has helped me prepare to tutor students in many areas, including social studies, Spanish, mathematics, writing skills, and English basics like grammar and mechanics. I can also work with students on American history, religious studies, public speaking, phonics, business, and preparation for college tests like the SAT and ACT. I particularly enjoy tutoring my students in writing, because creating easy-to-read but compelling pieces of writing is a skill that benefits everyone throughout their lives. As a tutor, I try to develop close relationships with my students so that I can figure out the best way to help them reach their goals. When I'm not teaching or tutoring, I like to stay fit by running.
