Education

I am a 2020 MBA graduate from Wake Forest University. Additionally, I graduated from Miami University in 2019 with two Bachelor of Science degrees: microbiology and political communications. I was a graduate teaching assistant, undergraduate supplementary instructor, and head of the student teaching program in physics for almost 4 years. I have tutored for the past 6 years and love to help specifically with math, paper revisions, science, and English grammar, but feel qualified to help in additional areas. I worked as a student tutor at my school for several years and loved it. I also worked as a private tutor for families throughout Columbus and Oxford, Ohio. I am very patient with children and enjoy working with students. I am very organized and would be more than happy to talk about your child's specific needs.

Experience

I was a graduate teaching assistant, undergraduate supplementary instructor, and head of the student teaching program in physics for almost 4 years. I have tutored for the past 6 years. I received over 33 on all my ACT subsections and a 35 composite, and a 171 on my LSAT exam. I worked as a student tutor at my school and would also travel to homes to tutor privately. I received 4's and 5's on both my AP English exams. I also passed both the AP U.S. History and AP Government exams, along with AP Physics with scores of 3 or higher. Upon inquiry, I will provide a list of all courses I have taken. My end goal in my career is to be a professor and in the meantime, I enjoy tutoring so I can stay engaged in academia. Feeling frustrated over not comprehending a topic is a terrible feeling that can decrease a student's motivation to succeed. Through gentle encouragement, I want to guide children to success and help them discover their academic passions. I am also an alumni member of Ohio's Youth Council, and as the Columbus representative, I advocated for youth in the greater Columbus area. This has provided me with excellent public speaking skills and the ability to work well with kids and adults alike.

Hobbies

I have always enjoyed being involved in a variety of different activities, both educational and recreational. I was a gymnast at Miami University on the competitive club team and golfed at Wake Forest ultimately moving on to become an LPGA member. I belonged to the National Honors Society and the National Society of High School Scholars throughout high school, was actively involved in my University Honors Program as a class ambassador, and was a program ambassador at Wake Forest. School was always a priority for me, but I balanced school with activities I enjoyed and other responsibilities so it did not consume me. I learned that by utilizing tutors in my academic career I was able to use my time more efficiently when working on my academics so that I have time to relax and have fun and I hope to provide my students with the same luxury.
